About the blogger: Kyle Tromblee is from Pasadena, California. According to his Twitter page he is a personal trainer, agnostic atheist and a mixed martial arts fan.

What is it about? It is, in short, a blog about terrible tans. Documented in photographs, it’s a montage of sunburnt, over baked people and it will make you want to run to Boots and pick up a vat of SPF 5000, no matter how dark and cold it is outside. The blog has been running since December 2009, and has hundreds of tan-gone-wrong images to peruse.

Why do we love it? Sure, it happens to the fairest of us - forgetting to put sun lotion one afternoon while on holiday or putting on one too many layers of fake tan before a night out because you thought you’d ‘missed a bit’. But most of the people in these pictures have gone way, way beyond accidental damage.

Many of them are tanorexics or just darn right stupid. There’s every different shade of orange, red, brown and even purple. If it wasn’t so disturbing it might just be funny. Instead, it will make you feel very happy to be in the skin you’re in and serve as a reminder that some things are best in moderation.
