Decléor Skin Solving Facials Review

WHEN in need of a treat, I’ve always tended to steer away from having facials as I' often left feeling a little cheated. Sounds odd, I know, but the truth is I can give myself a facial at home anytime so I’d rather save a spa trip for exclusive treatments.

But this is where the Decléor face treatments are different, and certainly prove my theory to be wrong.

I was then asked to get ready for the treatment by removing my clothes down to my underwear, for a facial. Hmmm. As I was to discover, this was more than just a bog standard facial.

At the Beauty Retreat in John Lewis, Cheadle, you can enjoy a range of treatments from Decléor. I opted for a skin solving facial due to my skin suffering from the change of seasons - dry skin around the eyes and looking tired and dull.

Upon arrival I immediately felt relaxed. Forget the fact I was in a big, busy department store – all that was on my mind was the mini spa. I was met by a beauty therapist who took me straight to the treatment room and sat me down to talk about what I felt like I needed to get from my treatment.

I explained how from the onset of the cold weather the skin surrounding my eyes had become dry and flaky and that this needed a lot of attention, but also stressed that I suffered from oily patches as well.

The therapist then asked me about my lifestyle and health. Oh dear. I shamefully had to admit to no exercise, drinking and smoking. But she didn’t hold it against me, instead recommending a mixture of treatments the Aroma Expert Soothe for around my eyes combined with the Aroma Expert Essential for the other parts of my face.

I was then asked to get ready for the treatment by removing my clothes down to my underwear, for a facial. Hmmm. As I was to discover, this was more than just a bog standard facial. More than just face work, Decléor treatments are holistic meaning they use a mixture of massage and Reiki to get your body rebalanced.

Once settled on the bed, I lay face down, underneath a big fluffy cloud of towels. The treatment began with a full shoulder, back and arm massage using a mixture of Decléor treatment oils. After the initial massage I was then asked to lie flat on my back and was offered a hot water bottle for my feet or stomach. I opted for my stomach and it felt like I was back at home under the duvet - absolute bliss.

The facial then began. My skin was cleansed, scrubbed and toned to perfection before a moisturising mask was applied to my eye area followed by a purifying mask which was applied to the rest of my face.

I was then left for a good ten minutes to marinate and relax, after which the therapist then removed it and applied one of Decléor’s double radiance cream - a rich cream combined with a gel formulation to treat both the inner and outer skin needs which apparently would leave my skin an instant radiance.

That it did. My entire face looked instantly brighter, the skin around my eyes felt hydrated, lifted and revived. Any stresses I’d arrived with were long gone and I walked away with a spring in my step. A full body experience from a facial? Well I never.

Skin Solving Facials last for 1hr 15 minutes - £63.
