Lynda BeforeWhat is it?
A new hair salon on Bridge Street, in a former deli unit opposite The Bridge pub.
Ok. What’s it like?
Small, but perfectly formed. Light and bright with plenty of big mirrors and high ceilings. It’s a hairdressers that will make you feel at home.
Who goes there?
Mostly women, but they do gents’ cuts too.
What are their products of choice?
Swoon is a Bumble and Bumble exclusive salon. Here at Body Confidential we’re big fans of this range as it doesn’t alienate any particular hair type, working well on everything from the coarsest afro to the fine and flyaway.
From frizzy to smoothHow much does it cost?
A cut and style starts at £56, blow-dry from £35 and the most expensive thing on the menu is a full head of highlights for £130. If you’re trying to grow out your colour, the vegetable rinse at £30 is very reasonably priced and kind on your tresses. Body Confidential editor Lynda Moyo had this particular treatment (see pics) to tone down her over-processed, brassy colour and condition her hair.
Who’s the gaffer?
Mark Jones, who trained and worked at Vidal Sassoon for 14 years before setting up shop. In fact four staff in the salon are ex-Vidal Sassoon, so they all certainly know what they’re doing.
Lynda AfterDo you get a cup of tea?
Yep. And coffee. Champers anyone? Be careful not to get hair in it though.

I always go to Mark (Brad) for my hair done. I have done for years. I followed him from Vidals to Hebden Bridge and now I am really pleased he is back in Manchester so I don't have to travel so far!
A while ago I went to Nicky Clarke ( because I couldn't face the journey to Yorkshire) and a girl did my hair. She didn't listen to what I asked for, she just did what she wanted and ended up cutting off far too much of my hair which took forever to go back.
When you find a stylist who listens to you, consistently makes your hair look great and gives good advice, I think you should stick with them.
I love the new place too. I always tell people how lovely it is!
My mum and my sister both go to Mark now too. We all have a pampering day in Manchester and go to Ciccetti for lunch!
Highly recommended!
