The Three Month Blow Dry: part two

Last year saw me trip trap off to America for what would be a test of time for my tresses. A desert festival in Nevada. Hair scare central.

It’s super fast to actually style my hair and isn’t as time intensive on the sectioning and blow drying each chunk. Use of straighteners is reduced. It’s all good. Even if I’m drizzled on it doesn’t mean instant frizzle. Perfect for the current not-so-dry climate.

Cue the Sorbie Style Solution by KeraStraight to save the day. The original review can be found here. It’s worth reading to set the scene for this subsequent scribe.

All clients are served complimentary drinks and nibbles - was a bit too early for bubbles

Some months on and no longer under the magical spell, I was invited back to road test the revised version. To be honest I didn’t think there was much room for improvement. Originally I’d opted for the treatment as I had an occasion in mind, this time, having been bitten by the bug, I was just looking forward to having it done to keep everyday hair maintenance to a minimum.

Trevor Sorbie target the solution at people with dull, dry, damaged, curly, wavy, frizzy, unmanageable and/or difficult to style hair. All sound pretty extreme and perhaps what you wouldn’t want to pigeon hole yourself as, but having tried this treatment once I think they can cast their net wider to people who simply want silky smooth perfect hair with maximum ease.

The drill was the same. Visit salon. Lovely hairdresser gives overview of treatment. This time Ashley was in charge. Ashley may not have any ears left. I chattered the whole way through regaling tales of the America trip. Hair is washed. Dried. Magic potion applied. Special straightening ritual is undertaken. Now then, pay attention - this is where it changes.

Previously you had to leave the salon with pin-straight, resin-heavy hair. And keep it like that for a minimum of three days. It was not attractive. You also couldn’t pop it behind your ears, tie it back, anything. It was slapped to your head. For. Three. Whole. Days.

Painting on the resin

Further research into this remedy has established that you can wash your hair immediately. Fabulous. That really was the only issue I had with it last time. So I promptly requested whether they could fit me for a wash and blow and that was me good to go. No hiding round street corners this time, checking the coast was clear while championing greasy-chic.

If you’re a masochist you can of course stick to the three days. Note that upon not giving it the immediate rinse, the same rules apply as previous - don’t tie your hair back or put behind the ears.

I’d forgotten how fab it was. With this treatment, when I do my hair in the morning the style sticks all day. It is great. It’s super fast to actually style and isn’t as time intensive on the sectioning and blow drying each chunk. Use of straighteners is reduced. It’s all good. Even if I’m drizzled on it doesn’t mean instant frizzle. Perfect for the current not-so-dry climate.

Style post blow dry

Other hair dressers around the city charge a fortune for this. Trevor Sorbie has always been competitively priced, but for this month only they are offering Confidential readers the mustn’t miss price of £100. Shampoo and conditioner included. It’s an idea to book yourself in for a wash and blow straight after with the money you’ve saved. Hassle-free hair for three months. Done and dusted in no more than an hour and a half. You know you want it.

For the month of February you can book this offer for £100. For appointments until the end of March. Click here for more info.

Decided to take up the offer to have my hair straightened at Trevor Sorbie to see if I could finally get away from using my GHD's all the time and it works, it's amazing!! (When it's wet, my hair looks like Ive got an 80's demi wave - nice). Washed and dried my hair this morning, no straighteners and went to work with poker straight hair - great! Added bonus, had a fab guy called Ashley doing the treatment who I had a good giggle with.
