WHEN it comes to strengthening weak, brittle nails there are a lot of products out there that claim to have the answer.
Some come in the form of vitamin tablets (beauty starts from the inside and all that), others are so-called hardening base coats and then of course there are the many creams and oils such as one developed from a product used on horses hooves, oddly.
They’ve also gone from a papery thin consistency to being as hard and durable as say, a credit card. I can’t bend them even if I try.
Dr Lewinn’s Renunail is another one on the solutions list – but this one is a nail treatment which a friend of mine introduced me to after a trip to Australia, where it’s known as Revitanail.
After some research I learned that Dr Lewin’s products were first launched in Australia as he wanted to ensure his products were the best on earth by testing them in the harshest climate on earth.
His trials in the elements appear to have paid off. In the words of my friend, Dr Lewinn’s Renunail “pisses all over anything by Sally Hansen” and having tried it firsthand I’d have to agree, despite Sally Hansen being the best selling nail care brand in the US.
The Renunail treatment works over a period of four weeks, although I saw a definite change in half that time. Two coats of the solution have to be applied to the nails on day one followed by an additional layer each day for five days in total. It looks just like clear varnish so your nails will look nice and glossy during this process.
Dr Lewinn's Renunail Nail Strengthener
On the seventh day you remove it with nail polish remover before starting the process again. After 25 days you will see a difference in the strength, length and overall look of your nails.
All my nails are now a centimetre longer than before I started with Dr Lewinn's Renunail, but most importantly they are healthy looking with no ridges or breakage. They’ve also gone from a papery thin consistency to being as hard and durable as say, a credit card. I can’t bend them even if I try.
Renunail never actually claimed to make them grow faster but because your nails will stop breaking and become super solid, it will appear as though this is some sort of miracle grow product. In actual fact it’s more a restorative product, but a sweet miracle all the same.
What’s even more remarkable is that after you’ve done the treatment once, your nails will stay healthy. I now just use Renunail from time to time as a base coat and topcoat when I’m wearing nail varnish.
It’s a fantastic product that really works where so many others have failed. Dr Lewinn has well and truly nailed it.
Dr Lewinn’s Renunail Strengthener treatment costs £17.50 for a 30ml bottle. Click here for more information.
