The amount of heat appliances we use on our hair leaves many of us with a frazzled and thirsty mane – not a problem that affects the Miskito Indians from Central America. They're the inspiration behind Ojon, a treatment that originates from a natural product they use. The Miskito Indians are known in their native language as 'Tawira' which means 'the people of beautiful hair', and this is thanks to Ojon palm nut oil from Ojon nuts, which they use in their hair – all day, every day.
The shelf version of this miraculous oil softens the driest of hair, preventing breakage and has been found to be particularly effective on afro and mixed-race hair types. The product has a rich earthy smell to it and comes with its own wooden comb.
At £38 a pot, it may not be the cheapest of hair products but it does provide a salon level of restorative treatment. Also, the pot will last longer than most as you only need to use a 5p size amount each time.
Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment is available from John Lewis Trafford, Cheadle and Liverpool One.
