THINKING of sending a dozen red roses this Valentine’s Day? Oh, you did that last year? Well how about roses with a twist?
"The red rose is still the most popular flower for Valentine’s Day and this year we’ve decided to marry it with very contemporary foliage and flowers."
Verdure – the florist based in MediaCity UK, Salford – has placed the classic red rose at the heart of each of the eight designs, and paired them with fashionable flowers including orchids and freesias in pink and purple shades for an altogether more vibrant Valentine’s Day.
Adi Thomas, Verdure said: “The red rose is still the most popular flower for Valentine’s Day and this year we’ve decided to marry it with very contemporary foliage and flowers in beautiful shades of pink and purple. We’re still doing the traditional dozen and half dozen red roses too and all our other flowers are available to buy for Valentine’s Day along with our bespoke design service.”
The Verdure Valentine collection features two different varieties of red roses:
- The large headed red Naomi rose, grown in The Netherlands, is the rose for ‘when only the very best will do’. It’s highly scented and has a good vase life of 10 -14 days.
- Freedom roses offer very good value for money; they will keep for 10-14 days when looked after correctly. Grown in Ecuador, the rose has a very large head size.
Adi continued: “We consider both our rose varieties to be the highest quality there is available. We provide easy to follow care instructions so customers can enjoy their flowers, and their scent, for as long as possible.”
Other products in the collection include a simple three rose vase arrangement (from £25); classic half dozen roses are available from £30 going up to £100 for a premium dozen; a hand woven heart shaped willow basket with red Naomi and scented freesia from £35 to £65; hand tied bouquets ranging from £35 to £125 for the XL Valentine Amour which includes red Naomi roses, pink sweet dolomiti roses, vanda orchids, pale pink tulips, alstromeria, scented freesia and assorted foliage.
Verdure will hand deliver all flowers ordered by 8pm on Monday 13th February and orders placed by 1pm on Valentine’s Day (subject to an additional delivery charge), guaranteed.
