WE’VE had our eye on Annie for some time now, here at Body Confidential. The ethical clothing brand's been growing organically (quite literally) since launching in September 2007.

What we are particularly fond of is the fact the clothes still have that trendy high street appeal in spite of their eco-warrioress origins. Not the hippy rags you’d perhaps expect from such a clean living brand, the cutesy dresses don’t look at all out of place in Topshop or on ASOS, which is exactly why both high street giants now stock the brand. To this day, Annie Greenabelle is now available in over 90 independent boutiques worldwide too.

After two years of initial research, the team managed to source organically grown and Fairtrade certified cottons. They also use reclaimed fabrics that would typically be wasted and sent to landfill for their range. What’s more, all garments are designed in-house.

So how do they do it?

‘The majority of all our manufacturing is carried out in our in-house factories meaning that we know our whole team on a first name basis, and know that they are treated with care and respect. All our factories are audited to at least the standards as set out by the ethical trading initiative.
