Tanya’s Top Tips
1. Make sure the colour doesn’t make you look washed out or give you a yellow tinge.
2. Avoid doubled breasted coats if you have larger breasts
3. If you are looking for a patterned coat or a coat with detailing (ie. larger buttons), make sure the size suits your scale. For example, a petite frame won’t look great in a coat with a big pattern or oversized buttons.
4. Make sure the hemline of the coat doesn’t end at your widest point.
5. Make sure you take into consideration the fabric – if you have a curvy figure softer fabrics that drape and skim are best (such as those with a Lycra blend, softer velvets and lightweight wools) but if you have a straighter/more angular frame, stiffer, more starchy fabrics are better (such as cord, tweed and heavier velvet)
