Meet Linford Christie

Olympic 100 metre Champion Linford Christie and Olympic Gold Medallist Darren Campbell will be bringing street athletics to Albert Square today.

Young people from Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol and London will race in categories under the ages of 13, 15, 17 and under 20. The heats will take place on Friday 19 September between 4.30pm-9pm and the winners will go through to the grand finals on Saturday 20 September at 12noon- 6pm.

A 60 metre track will be laid outside the Town Hall and there will be a showcase of music and stage performances from each city throughout the event. Admission to this event is free.
