Week 14 – Moobs

Moobs are a huge confidence drainer. I had them pre-challenge and still do a little bit. I hated them and even considered surgery at various points.

Moobs are mostly embarrassing to guys because they make them look like, well, girls. Moobs give the men who have them a soft, even hourglass figure and make them resemble women.

They ruined every t-shirt or jumper I wore and made me hugely self conscious. So why do we get them and more importantly how can we get rid of them?

You're not a cow or a woman, so why look like one? Moobs occur when there is a hormonal imbalance in the body, normally combined with poor diet and lack of exercise. Many men find themselves troubled with this issue, and often, they are too embarrassed to do anything about it. This doesn't have to be you, though. No matter what your problem with moobs are, you'll find that there are solutions that are available to you. You don't have to worry about being humiliated in front of your hot date if someone spills water on you, and you can go to the beach without worrying about what people think. You can go a long way towards getting your moobs taken care of by just knowing a few things about the condition. I found some great tips here. See below...

Why are moobs so embarrassing?
Moobs are mostly embarrassing to guys because they make them look like, well, girls. Moobs give the men who have them a soft, even hourglass figure and make them resemble women. That is essentially what is going on at a hormonal level as well. Men who have moobs are often producing too much oestrogen, the so-called female hormone which is responsible for the growth of secondary female sex characteristics, including inhibiting facial hair, raising the voice and growing breasts. There are many reasons why a man might have a high level of oestrogen in his body, ranging from going through puberty when everything is out of whack, to taking a new kind of medication, but the important thing is to get it taken care of.

Are there any good drugs to reduce moobs?
When you are fighting to restore hormone balance, you'll find that there are several things that you need to keep in mind. It's not as simple as taking a pill or getting a shot; the hormone balance in your body is an individual thing and you might find that you need to work to find the right combination of factors for you. Usually, for most people, it's a matter of getting their diet and exercise under control. However, keep in mind that healthy people develop moobs too and that you think about the diet you are keeping to and your exercise as well. First, the diet should definitely get your metabolism up and running. Eat several times a day and avoid foods which are high in simple carbohydrates because they will contribute to the problem. Similarly, make sure that your exercise is done in bursts to make it most effective.

Why shouldn't I just get surgery?
Surgery is a quick fix, possibly the quickest one possible, but it doesn't address the hormones involved, just the fat. If fat was the only problem, then surgery would fix it permanently, but this is seldom the case. If the hormonal issue hasn't been taken care of, you'll end up actually regrowing the moobs again. Start with the correct exercise and diet and chances are, you'll never have to think about surgery.And to be honest that’s what’s happened, my moobs have 95 per cent gone with the exercise and diet Darren put me on.

Photo shoot
Eeekkk we are two weeks off photo shoot time, the question is am I photo shoot ready?Well yes and no. I have a toned figure in most parts that I’m proud of but still have bumps and fat that I’m not. I won’t reach my goal of 14 per cent body fat and will probably end up around 17-19 per cent which don’t get me wrong is still good, but just not good enough.

I’m photo shoot ready in terms of showing you readers the huge difference, but I wanted to be Men’s Health standard. Watch out for the pictures coming soon.

remember,although hormone levels are a factor, mboobs are usually a result of toooo much body fat....too little muscle... too little testosterone elevating training.
