Please read on to see a brief C.V. of our key members of staff below
Jennie Bowman - Owner
I started my own business nine years ago, offering Swedish, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy and Sports massages to clients in the comfort of their own home. Over the last six years I have furthered my education with a Sports Rehabilitation Degree from Salford University, a Stones Therapy Level 3 N.V.Q. Diploma, a Sports Thai Massage Diploma and my Level 1 Athletics Coaching Award, amongst many others. Since then, I've opened my own treatment centre with all the facilities necessary to provide a continuum of health care.
My client list is already extensive and includes the Kings of Leon, Jessica Simpson, players from Salford Reds Rugby League Club, Salford Athletic Club and Ford Halewood Athletic Club as well as Sale Harriers Athletic Club. I have also worked as a Sports Rehabilitator at Oldham Athletic Football Club and Warrington Wizards Rugby League Club.
I now receive referred clients from sports coaches and clubs and I also now treat friends of previous clients, the best recommendation I could get!
During my spare time I compete at a national level in long distance running events. This means I know what it is like to get injured, as well as knowing how important relaxing is to the body. This makes it easier for me to understand the psychological issues, as well as the physiological issues faced by both athletes and those that exercise for fun.
My favourite bands at the moment are The Killers, Feeder, and The All American Rejects. I love going to live gigs and listening to music - especially when I run!
Laura Kirkham - Sports Rehabilitator
Since qualifying as a Sports Rehabilitator from the University of Salford, I have worked with Caldy R.F.U. and Sedgley Park R.F.U. I am now a valued member of the team here at Anatomy, bringing my previous experiences with me, as well as expanding on my clinical practice.
My background and experiences are as diverse as my passion for treatment, having worked in professional rugby with the Doncaster Knights, in female elite sport with the GB Basketball Team - who are on the Olympic trail and, also having worked in high level football with Altrincham F.C. Additionally, I earned my stripes working in two of Manchester’s largest injury clinics. This, coupled with my hands on experience pitch side, has allowed me treat a wide variety of injuries through all the stages of rehabilitation.
I love working with people and have such a varied job that keeps me on my feet and constantly learning new things. I enjoy watching and playing most sports and just hope I do not get injured myself!
Corin Rennie - Holistic Therapist
Corin is fully qualified in Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy and has been a practising Holistic Therapist for the last couple of years. She has previously studied for and obtained her Biology degree at Manchester University.
Corin is currently studying for her advanced level diplomas in Advanced Massage, Advanced Reflexology and Advanced Aromatherapy in order to further develop her skills. She is highly committed to her studies and the treatment and well-being of her clients.
Amy Cowx - Sports Rehabilitator
Since gaining a BSc [Hons] Sports Rehabilitation from Salford University, I have worked within clinics and sports clubs to help patients of all types - from the general public to elite athletes.
This involved managing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, sporting and non-sporting.
I hold a level 3 VTCT diploma in Sports and Events Massage and I am due to study for a Masters degree in Physiotherapy.
I am currently working with Manchester City Ladies FC and other experience I have in sporting environments include; Bolton Wanderers FC, Manchester Magic Basketball team, Manchester Amputee Football team, Ghanaian Premiership Football teams and Trafford Athletic Club as well as supporting competitors at the Wilmslow Half Marathon with pre and post event massage.
As a former sprinter and rower, I have sustained a number of sporting injuries and as such developed a strong empathy with individuals in a similar situation. This has resulted in me having a particular enthusiasm to helping others recover from injury and look for ways to prevent these injuries recurring.
Linda Stevens - Holistic Therapist
Working in the industry for 14 years, Linda is highly experienced and highly qualified in sports massage, reflexology, deep tissue massage, aromatherapy and stress relief massage. Her client list is extensive, including working with the Manchester Probation Service and the British Swimmers Association, where two of her clients went on to receive medals in the 2008 Olympic games.
Linda has a very busy life and enjoys country walks, spending time with her family and exploring the coastline.
