And The Winner Is... 'The Irwell' Rucksack

WE ran a competition last month, for readers to be in with a chance of winning the newly designed A Few Fine Things rucksack by simply giving it a name. You can view all the entrants here

AND the winner is... Alison Bond McNally who came up with the name suggestion ‘The Irwell’.

Alison wrote: ‘I would call it the Irwell after one of the great rivers of Manchester. A Few Fine Things’ bags are sturdy, capable and enduring, just like our fine river. They take whatever you throw at them and they continue to have a shabby beauty when they are well worn and well loved, and if the owner of this bag is anything like me then it will end up having quite a lot of 'rubbish' in it. That could lead on to the other 'urban' bags being named for other Rivers and the 'estate' bags being named after local grand Estates (Tatton, Dunham, Lyme).’

A Few Fine Things owners Stuart and Francesca liked how Alison drew parallels with Manchester's river.

Stuart said: “Particularly how she drew upon the bags robustness, but also how it would take on a beauty of its own when well worn with time and use.”

Alison has of course won the red rucksack she named, but the real prize is the knowledge that the bag has been christened with her chosen name, forever more.
