NO, it’s not a male escort service. Not far off though.
Carte Noire – the French coffee brand – is touring the country offering what they call ‘seductive coffee moments’ and today (Wednesday 26 October) they’re in Manchester.
The pop-up cafe is in Spinningfield’s Artzu art gallery in Quay House (round the back of the Pin-up Bowling Alley). When you arrive you’ll be greeted, seated and given a menu. But this is no ordinary menu.
Choose your coffee, choose your waiter
On it you’ll find a list of Carte Noire coffees to choose from followed by a list of attentive and afffectionately named waiters. There’s Mr Confident, Mr Romantic, Mr Cool and Mr Continental.
You choose a coffee and then pick which waiter you’d like to be served by.
I went for a Cappucino from Mr Cool. He was exactly as stated on the menu: ‘the perfect mix of gorgeous looks and a cool laid back personality.’ The coffee wasn’t bad either. You can watch my Mr Cool in the video below.
The Man Cafe is open until 6pm today. Men are welcome too – don’t worry, you can enjoy your free coffee and leave without being seduced by a waiter if you wish.
