Movember Finale At North Pole Bar

LAST NIGHT Manchester's favourite festive bar hosted a Movember party, offering a free shave at the City Gent shave station and a free drink to celebrate the end of a month of moustache growth. Dozens of men queued to have their proud moustaches removed.

Movemebr - the annual month of moustaches - is in support of male-specific cancer charities including The Prostate Cancer Charity and The Institute of Cancer Research, with the slogan ‘Changing the face of men’s health.’

In 2010, over 112,000 UK men (and women too) took part in Movember, raising £11.7 million. That figure is believed to have risen this year.

Jon Drape for the North Pole bar said: "Movember and the men's health charities it represents is an amazing idea. Dozens of very impressive moustaches were removed at the North Pole Bar and many men were accompanied by enthusiastic wives and girlfriends who thought the shave station was a brilliant idea."
