WITH stores already in Manchester, Glasgow and London’s Carnaby Street, Pretty Green is celebrating the opening of yet another store, this time, a pop-up shop in Covent Garden.
The brand’s philosophy concentrates on immaculate tailoring and quality fabrics and, of course, its nod to the art, music and culture.
The launch of the store will be attended by the founder, designer and rocker Liam Gallagher on Friday 6 May. Not only will the store carry both the Black and Green Label collections, it will also feature iconic imagery from Liam’s latest shoot for Pretty Green.
We were lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the British brand’s autumn/winter collection last week and were incredibly impressed with what we saw. Since its start in 2009, Pretty Green has become well known for its 60s rock vibe and has gained a loyal clientele.
The brand’s philosophy concentrates on immaculate tailoring and quality fabrics and, of course, its nod to the art, music and culture. Pretty Green is divided into two distinct lines: The Black Label comprises of more dressed-up designs, which concentrates on tailored jackets and cashmere pullovers. One of their best sellers is the Lennon Military Jacket - an Asian-inspired piece, which comes in two pastel tones. Another eye-catching item from their fall range is the peacoat – a smart, double-breasted jacket, which is available in black and olive. In addition to the clothing lines, there are also a variety of accessories – neck scarves, pocket handkerchiefs and fisherman’s hats.
The more casual range of jeans, denim shirts and jackets is part of the second line – the Green Label. The monogrammed buttons and interior pockets of the jeans show an attention to detail, which is signature for the brand. As with their evening jackets, the denim is carefully tailored and, like the Black Label, done with a particular emphasis on the fit and the detail.
The jersey tees are produced using the best Chinese cotton, which explains the extremely soft and delicate texture of the garments. Polo T-shirts and button-down shirts are another essential part of thecollection.
The new Pretty Green pace on the Royal Opera House Colonade will stock both the Green and Black Label, and like all of the Pretty Green stores, there will be a monthly line up of live music/in-store performances by both signed and unsigned bands.
Pretty Green, 81 Green Street, Manchester, M2 4AH, and the new store is opening at 4 East Piazza, Royal Opera House Colonnade, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 8HD.
