Bullet - Shop Review

Where is it?

41 Hardman Street

Liverpool

L1 9AS

Facebook Page

History

Originally called Bulletproof, the shop was opened around twelve years ago. When the original owner decided to move abroad six years later, the shop was taken over by member of staff and Liverpool John Moores University Fashion graduate Joanne, who brought her own flair for fashion to the shop.

What does it sell?

Bullet sells a great range of vintage clothing and accessories alongside one off pieces designed and made by Joanne.

Who shops there?

Bullet is in prime location for student shoppers, being so close to Liverpool Community College, Liverpool University and JMU sites. The shop also attracts women who are looking for something different from what the high street has on offer. It is a haven for women who love to shop, and us scousers certainly know how to shop like pros!

Why shop there?

The vintage selection at Bullet is so much more than ‘just another vintage shop’. When you look at what is on offer, you get the feeling everything has been chosen and displayed with care. Whilst being separate vintage pieces, there is a cohesive feel that makes it almost seem like a collection.

Alongside vintage items there is also Bullet’s own label, designed and made by Joanne. Each piece is a stunning one-off made from luxurious vintage fabrics. And if that isn’t fabulous enough for you, if you like a particular style but want it in a different fabric, you can request for one to be made especially.

Everything is so affordable that I challenge you to go there and not come out with something. I snapped up a fantastic 70s style maxi dress for £20 and a really cute polka-dot hair band for £6.

Future

Joanne is looking forward to widening her customer base and expanding the business online. The shop currently has a Facebook page, but Joanne has plans to set up a Twitter account and hopes to have a website by the end of the year.

Verdict

Bullet’s vintage range and own label will totally seduce you and keep on coming back for more
