Luci Living Design Interiors shop review

Where is it?
Luci Living Design
393 Bury New Road
Prestwich
Manchester

The website gives a good indication of what’s in store but be warned, you’ll be surfing for a while. Sectioned into 21 different categories to start, Luci hasn’t neglected any area of the home or garden.

History

Former housing project manager, Luci Roper founded Luci Living Designs in 2007. Originally, a home based venture, Luci built up contacts and began specialising in commercial interior design. As a result of the huge demand for her expertise, in 2009 she set up the residential strand of the company which lead to an online store that has been going for twelve months.

She has created designs for a large range of bar, restaurant and hotel projects including the Red Hall Hotel in Bury which was opened by Sir Alex Ferguson in September 2009.

Her eye for detail, flair and imagination has made her hot property within the interior design field and now she is about to open a store and showroom in Prestwich. The aim is to bring her interior designs to the northern market, which she says does not have any of its kind in that location currently.

Luci has even acquired the services of Jimmi Harkishin (Dev from Coronation Street) for the big launch to make sure the event goes off with a bang.

What does it sell?
Everything from your contemporary home furnishings, traditional and classic to high end glamourous and handcrafted furniture, which are part of the aptly named ‘Luci Loves’ range. The website gives a good indication of what’s in store but be warned, you’ll be surfing for a while. Sectioned into 21 different categories to start, Luci hasn’t neglected any area of the home or garden. From large staple items such as beds, chairs, cabinets and storage units down to decorative details such as trinkets, sculptures, clocks, wine racks and ottomans – it’s all been covered. The store has something to suit all varieties of tastes and requirements and even offers the opportunity for customers to request a product to be designed and manufactured, as well as an upholstery service.

Who shops there?
All types of people of different persuasions, with the multiple choice of designs styles and colours of products on offer. The store has something for the budding interior designers as well as beginners and those who have a general interest, with the added perk of actually interacting creatively.

Why shop there?
With the current financial climate, an interior design store would not ordinarily be the best idea with most people wanting to preserve those precious pennies. Luci however does not see this is as a stumbling block; she describes her company as “recession busting” saying that the range she specialises in start from low budget products costing just a few pounds to high end furnishings. She sources exclusive suppliers and original handcrafted furniture allowing the opportunity for customers to request a particular product to be designed an approved before purchase at the showroom.

The store is also available to hire for networking events as well as offering customers the chance to participate in creative courses and other activities such as wine tasting to make it a fully interactive experience for people.

Future
Once the new store in Prestwich has been established, Luci plans to expand the brand and open new stores in the future. She also hopes to modify the online store to make it a more user friendly experience. Meanwhile, she is enthusiastic about the opening of her brand new store and is eager to make her mark in north Manchester with her original and specialist designs.

Verdict
The shop and showroom is well worth a look, as it is located in a prime position, and although it is on the face of it a conventional interior design store, it also encourages people of all levels and expertise to express their creativity by taking part in courses and utilise the venue for networking. Luci’s enthusiasm and excitement for the new store is infectious and her talent for interior designing is without a doubt a cut above the rest.

Hhhhhhh

I'm sorry but I think you must be talking about the wrong shop. I called in for some design advice and after an appraisal at my property they came back with some designs that frankly must have been from the local primary school. My thoughts where totally ignored and I felt I had no input whatsoever. I believe that a real interior designer could not be that far from the mark.
