History

French brand, The Kooples, has unveiled yet another boutique to showcase its ‘franco-british elegance’.  This time, it’s in Manchester.

The Kooples is famous for its modern young couples donning amazing interchangeable outfits that ‘resist the passage of time and remain elegant for all of eternity’. Created by the Elicha brothers, The Kooples was patented on the brothers’ musical tastes and the urban street culture of both Paris and London. The company’s manifest states that it is ‘bringing back chic to the streets.’

What does it sell?

Upon entering the store the sales assistant was not only super friendly, but also a great mascot for the brand dressed head to toe in the same colours that filled the store. I instantly wanted to channel the signature traits of the brand.

Think androgynous, modern with a vintage twist and just the right balance between masculine and feminine. Clothes here don’t come cheap (around £175 for a dress, £135 for a shirt and £240 for a carigan) but these are timeless, well made and versatile pieces. Having walked around the store several times, it’s clear to see each item could be made into an outfit with at least five other items from different collections within the store. It’s a classic capsule wardrobe.

Who shops there?

However, there is something for anyone who is keen to keep their wardrobe modern but wants to update it with this season’s rich colours.

Future

With new stores popping up all over the country, the future is bright. The latest addition to The Kooples family  slots in well in Manchester’s King Street with its Parisian style tiles and boutiques. There’s no doubt that Manchester’s fashion conscious will be clocking on to the brand in no time.

Verdict

Expect to see plenty of Kooples couples all over town.
